In Episode 41 of Derms and Conditions, our host James Q. Del Rosso, DO brings back a prior podcast guest in Brad P. Glick, DO, a member of the board of directors of the AAD and National Psoriasis Foundation as well as the residency program director at Larkin Palm Springs in Miami. The two discuss psoriasis management and the utility of anti-TNF drugs.

Dr. Glick emphasizes that TNF inhibitors remain a very important part of our psoriasis therapeutic armamentarium despite newer drugs coming to the market. About 30% of psoriasis patients will get psoriatic arthritis and TNF inhibitors are very effective at treating both skin and joint disease. In addition, TNF inhibitors are used to treat inflammatory bowel disease as well and are often selected by Dr. Glick to treat psoriasis if there is a family history of IBD.

Dr. Glick provides several valuable tips on recognizing the most common signs and symptoms of psoriatic arthritis and quickly but effectively screening patients at every visit. He also discusses several common clinical scenarios and how to choose the right drug for the right patient.
