Data from the SEER database actually shows deaths resulting from complications of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma actually are double that from cutaneous melanoma on an annual basis. I think many moe surgeons or other doctors that treat a lot of transplant patients or patients with a high burden of squamous cell carcinoma recognize this. But I think in general, this is something that is oftentimes not fully understood by dermatologists and definitely something we need to pay attention to, just in terms of the mortality associated with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma.
