You. Switching medications can be difficult, and determining when and why to switch medications can be based on a number of factors. I certainly want to tease out any external factors that may be resulting in loss of efficacy. Noncompliance is certainly high on that list. Once those have been ferreted out, I will consider changing medications after three months or greater on the initial medication, as long as they're not experiencing an adverse event from the previous medication.
