Advancements in Treating Vitiligo

Vitiligo

Well, the biggest advance in the treatment of Vitiligo in the past year has been the recent approval of topical ruxalitnib cream, the first ever prescription therapy approved by the FDA for the treatment of vitiligo. And this has really been transformative for our patients. Being able to use an approved cream twice a day, safely and effectively, over an extended period of time, and see repigmentation, whether it's facial vitiligo or vitiligo on the body, has really been transformative. Beyond topical therapy, we are seeing in the pipeline some interesting, exciting research with jack inhibitors that are oral. We're seeing being procedural therapy for vitiligo, a modification of the melanocyte keratinocyte transplantation protocol, which is something that will be hopefully available and approved for use in our offices. So really an exciting time to be treating vitiligo.
