What is the role of nutrition in dermatology?

You. I think nutrition is very important when it comes to counseling patients with dermatologic conditions. One of the most common questions that I get in the office is, doctor, is this condition caused by something that I'm eating or something that I'm not eating? And I follow very, very simple steps when I counsel patients about nutrition. Cut out white sugar, white flour, and dairy. I think those most foods are proinflammatory, and we have pretty good evidence for that. Patients should be counseled to be on a diet that's full of lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, and fruits and vegetables. Keep it simple. Stick to those things. Your patients will thank you. And I think it would really help their inflammatory conditions.
