While staging helps to provide good prognostic information for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, it generally divides patients into very large buckets or groups. So where GEP can be helpful is that it gives more granular data within a stage. Also, we know that having a class two result, two a or two b, means that that patient does have a worse prognosis. And when we look by multivariable analysis, the data would show us that that is actually independent of stage. So it gives us additional information doesn't just confirm the stage itself. Also, if you have a patient with a class two B tumor, we know that their risk is actually twofold higher than what we might have expected just by staging alone.
