How does the 40-GEP test influence your decision to use radiologic imaging to check regional lymph nodes and distant organs for metastasis?

You 40 GEP result gives us information that we can translate into action for managing patients. So, for example, if a patient has a class two b tumor, we know they're high risk. We know that we need to image the draining lymph nodes. We generally would also want to do evaluation for distant metastasis as well. This is also important not just at the moment of diagnosis, but over the next two years. So looking at the data, we know that patients with a class two a or two B squamous cell carcinoma, if they are going to have distant metastasis, it's generally going to happen in that two year frame. So it means that those are patients who need to be followed carefully by dermatology and often additionally by medical oncology, and with imaging and surveillance particularly critical in that first two year period.
