You again, as a practitioner who does a lot of patch testing, I'm coming at this from the perspective of allergic contact dermatitis and irritant contact dermatitis, and in those instances, continuity of therapy is very important. I referenced the review in another question published in the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology that showed that over 70% of topical corticosteroids contain wellknown allergens. And so if we look at that 70%, and if we know that patients might simply be getting whatever's in stock at the local pharmacy, a cream that was substituted for an ointment, one manufacturer versus another, then we should be a little concerned about patient outcomes. That lack of continuity of topical therapy could contribute to allergy and irritation, and therefore decreased patient confidence in your prescribing habits and.
