Do you need to monitor any laboratory testing with topical JAK inhibitors?

You. A common question we receive is, do you need to monitor any laboratory testing with topical Janus Kinase inhibitors? We certainly know that there are recommendations to date, and we'll see what happens as these drugs get approved for dermatologic conditions given orally, we know there's laboratory monitoring and involved. However, the data we have, and I've been involved with some of these studies with topical application of the Janus kinase inhibitors do not appear to elicit any of the systemic safety signals that we see with systemic administration. So in my mind, I don't believe you need to do laboratory testing. Some clinicians may want to do it because these agents are new, and as they get approved, we'll see what the FDA puts in the labeling, but we certainly don't see the systemic reactions with topical application that have been associated with these agents given orally.
